Presentations at local elementary and high schools
Kids are the future of medical science. Taking advantage of their natural curiosity and desire to learn Dr. Barker and his university students volunteer at local elementary and high schools giving presentations about their research to get kids excited about medical science.
When asked why he volunteers teaching school children Dr. Barker answers; "To change the world."
He goes on to say "My interest and passion for science started in my early schooling with a few good science teachers. By exposing children to the magic of science early on, perhaps I will pique their interest and a few will choose careers in science. And one might even make a discovery that changes the world!"
