Research experience

1. Intra-beam Quality Assurance
 Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Jürgen Hesser (Department of Experimental Radiation Oncology, Mannheim Medical Faculty, University of Heidelberg)
Research focus: Dosage reduction in skin during intrabeam brachytherapy procedure and determination of the effect of applicator deflection on dose delivery.
Techniques used: Data measurement, programming (Matlab) and data analysis.
2. The role of endplate in intervertebral disc degeneration Supervisor: Prof. Dike Ruan, Chief, Department of Orthopedics, (Navy General Hospital of PLA, Beijing, P.R China)                        
Research focus: Evaluation of dynamic function of intervertebral discs endplate using Dynamic contrast-enhanced-MRI (DCE MRI) in a canine model.
3. Evaluation of cervical intervertebral disc by quantitative T2 MRI imaging at 3.0T MRI Supervisor: Prof. Dike Ruan.
Research focus: Evaluation of cervical intervertebral disc by quantitative T2 MRI mapping.
Techniques used: Volunteer recruitment, data measurement and statistical analysis.
4.  Stem cell + PEG microcryogel therapy in intervertebral disc degeneration in a canine model Supervisors: Prof. Yanan Du and Prof. Dike Ruan (School of Medicine, Tsinghua University, China)
Research focus: Evaluation of stem cell + PEG microcryogel therapy on intervertebral disc degeneration
Techniques used: Care for animal “dog” model and specimen processing.
