Ambulance for Argentina

Printer-friendly version of this page

In 1990, Dr Silvia Pierangeli received a request for a much needed ambulance, from a small town in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She recruited the assistance of Dr Barker who contacted the Mayor of Louisville, Jerry Abramson with the request. Mayor Abramson made arrangements with the City's Emergency Medical Services to donate a gently used Ambulance (photo) to the cause. After making sure the vehicle was in excellent working condition and fully equipped Drs Pierangeli and Barker made the necessary arrangements to have the vehicle shipped to Argentina, through Argentine customs (the hardest part) and on to the clinic.
